High Plains Drifter October 2025 “The grizzlies are feasting right now.”
Late in the season, they move with a kind of quiet determination grazing every hillside, turning over logs, digging for roots, fishing every stretch of creek they trust. They aren’t frantic They aren’t panicked They’re deliberate
Stockpiling energy for what’s coming. One last push before the long rest. And watching that rhythm, you can’t help but think: How many of us try to live in endless summer? Always producing, always chasing, always saying yes to one more thing… as if the wheel never turns.
But the bears don’t fear the cycle They honor it Maybe this season isn’t about pushing harder Maybe it’s about reflection About gathering the wisdom you picked up this year, storing the nourishment you’ve earned, and settling into the kind of internal quiet that actually builds strength.
Because winter comes for all of us in our work, our leadership, our inner life.
And the ones who thrive aren’t the ones who outrun it. They’re the ones who prepare with intention.
So… what does your winter prep look like?
